For over two decades, Marcus has been at the forefront of apprenticeship development, shaping programmes and expanding provisions significantly. A trailblazer in the UK, he now drives expansion in the housing and property sector at LCG while maintaining a steadfast commitment to fostering employer engagement.

Marcus began his journey in employer relations and apprenticeship expertise over 20 years ago, commencing in 2001 with Business Link Essex, on the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) project "Profit from Learning." This initiative aimed to empower businesses in elevating their workforce skills. During his tenure at LSC in 2003, Marcus focused on shaping the new Modern Apprenticeship Programme during a year-long secondment.

Transitioning into Train to Gain, Marcus maintained a steadfast focus on supporting employers in enhancing their workforce capabilities at Levels 2 and 3, emphasising the pivotal role of Apprenticeships. Culminating as Head of Employability and Skills, he championed numerous workforce development initiatives.

In 2010, Marcus embarked on a new chapter at the national charity Catch 22, initially as a Commercial Manager. Swiftly thereafter, he assumed responsibility for managing the apprenticeship contract, propelling the provision's growth from £300k to £6M with HSBC over a 3-year period.

Continuing his trajectory of success, Marcus transitioned into the role of Sales and Development Director for an additional four years. During this time, he spearheaded the creation of a groundbreaking housing standard delivery model in 2015, strategically aligned with the introduction of the new levy and trailblazers within the sector. Marcus forged pioneering partnerships, leading the way in embedding professional qualifications in block management, marking a significant milestone within the UK.

In 2020, Marcus transitioned to a new role with LCG, fostering continued growth and support for housing provision while expanding their footprint across the three sub-sectors. With over seven years dedicated primarily to the housing sector, Marcus cultivated a profound understanding of its intricacies and needs.

Beyond his professional endeavours, Marcus is passionate about music, boxing (both as a participant and coach), and football coaching. His journey spans 22 years, encompassing operational roles to senior sales, all underlined by an unwavering commitment to apprenticeships and employer engagement.
