FE Providers

I represent a Further Education college which is looking to gain high-quality, value for money support to improve the learning experience of my students – how can Learning Curve Group support these ambitions?

We work with over 125 Further Education providers to give support that enhances student learning.

This includes supporting colleges through our advanced digital platform Learning@College, a suite of life and study skills that support an FE provider’s own study programmes, and e-Assessor, our market leading online assessment and tracking platform which is now used by over 70 colleges and Independent Training Providers.

We also provide the very best consultancy services within the areas of Further Education and training, including management and consultancy, specialist strategic and operational support, funding advice and guidance, bespoke training in many topics, and other support.

What other services does Learning Curve Group supply?

We provide a Consultancy and Interim Services offer which supports our FE partners with a one-stop shop for all their needs. Using our in-house expertise alongside leading Further Education specialist Beej Kaczmarczyk and carefully selected associates, we supply FE Providers with high-quality strategic and operational support and the latest updates on key funding changes. Our offer includes staff training, consultancy and interim management in a range of areas including leadership and management, governance, curriculum and planning, funding methodology, quality and inspection, finance, MIS, audit, and further staff development.

Learners/Loans

I am an employee looking to improve my skills in the workplace through new learning and new qualifications – how can Learning Curve Group help me achieve my goals?

We offer an extensive range of easily accessible, nationally accredited courses that have been created to help thousands of people each year improve their career and life prospects through training and learning. They are flexible in design, which means they allow for learning to happen at a time and place suitable to each individual learner, be it in the workplace or at home.

Market leading and nationally accredited, they include short vocational courses that can be completed in a number of weeks and apprenticeships which last a minimum of a year. If successfully completed, they leave a beneficial personal legacy that can last a lifetime.

Courses available include health and social care – which are the most comprehensive in the country – business administration, engineering, team leading, management and leadership, and personal development.

Our courses tie in to essential knowledge and skills required to carry out certain job roles, and are an excellent way of learning, bringing a host of benefits to staff members.

I am unemployed and want to learn new skills to get in to employment - what support can Learning Curve Group give me?

We have a range of apprenticeship provision that gives people the skills and qualification to gain employment, and we operate five Skill Centres that support young people in to work.

Skill Centres in Middlesbrough and Sunderland teach a range of mainly construction skills to NEET young people and unemployed adults, and include painting and decorating, bricklaying, and plastering, as well as administration, retail, and business. We also operate three Military Skill Centres in Yorkshire – in Leeds, Sheffield and Wakefield – that give mainly unemployed people the skills they need to prepare for the armed forces or to work in security.

How long do your courses take to complete, how do they fit into my work and life balance, and where does learning take place?

We specialise in many types of learning, with courses lasting from a few weeks to a year.

We have developed a wide range of market leading short courses and apprenticeships which are highly flexible in their design. They allow learners to fit their studies around their working hours and home life by using either high-quality online or paper learning materials.

We employ over 430 highly skilled and qualified associate tutors to directly support learners in the workplace through regular scheduled visits, and we also provide high-quality online support. This includes through our market leading online assessment platform, e-Assessor, which has supported thousands of learners to achieve their qualification and is endorsed by all of our awarding body partners. It helps the learner complete their whole course online.

Each level of an apprenticeship typically takes 12 months to complete, as do our Skill Centre courses. Our short courses, designed to allow takers to fit their learning around their employment obligations, can be completed in a number of weeks.

Skill Centre learning typically takes place at the centres, although those taking our military Skill Centre training can expect to undertake off-site, hands-on instruction at outdoor locations.

How does Learning Curve Group access funding that allows me to take my course?

We work closely with the Government’s Skills Funding Agency and Education Funding Agency, which means we can offer most of our courses fully funded to employers, subject to learner eligibility.

However we also support learners to access 19+ Advanced Learner Loans. The amount available depends on the course, course fee, and maximum amounts set by the Government. The minimum loan amount is £300. A maximum of four 19+ Advanced Learner Loans can be taken for non A Level courses, but only one at a time and not for the same course.

The loan must be paid back, plus interest, if the learner leaves or changes their course after two weeks or more. More information is available at www.gov.uk/advancedlearningloans

Are your courses recognised by employers?

All our courses are accredited by UK government-recognised awarding bodies. These include NCFE, with whom we work closely to ensure our existing courses, and all new ones, meet approved standards of excellence and are certified as such. NCFE is a national awarding organisation which designs, develops and certifies, nationally recognised qualifications and awards.
