An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Business Administrator to join our team at our Head Office based in Warrington.

Key Responsibilities

This is a great opportunity to gain some well rounded experience in an administrative role. Duties may include:

PA Duties:

  • Booking hotels / travel
  • Inputting diary reminders  i.e. travel details / holidays etc
  • Setting up the boardroom for meetings
  • Ordering lunches
  • Collating expenses

General Duties:

  • Managing mail boxes including Operations Admin & Enquiries – ensuring all are actioned in a timely manner
  • Reception duties, welcoming guests, answering calls
  • Mobilisation Support - Setting up basecamp, collating new site documentation, setting up new emails
  • Ordering stationery and equipment for site and head office ensuring stock levels are maintained
  • Creating Excel reports
  • Management of the fleet of Company cars – MOT reminders / Road Tax etc.
  • Manage online external and internal portals, uploading documents
  • Creating ID badges
  • Maintaining the Company equipment inventories including IT / mobiles / cars
  • Handling the post and arranging couriers
  • Managing drop box, updating documents and adding/removing users
  • Writing letters, binding documentation, filing
  • Action adhoc requests
  • Managing customer complaints
  • Organising and managing IT including the setup of phones, laptops and tablets.


  • Finding the best cost when sourcing travel / accommodation / equipment / materials etc
  • Requesting or obtaining authorisation and ensuring the relevant uplift is applied to orders when required
  • Obtaining Purchase Order numbers from the Finance department

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint Outlook
  • Experience in creating Excel reports including formulas / graphs
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Good IT knowledge

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Problem solving
  • IT literate
  • Proficient in using the internet

Desired qualifications

  • GCSE grades at 9-4 (A*-C) in maths and English or equivalent

Future prospects

  • Upon completion of the apprenticeship, a full time role may be available
