Filtronic plc is looking for an IT Apprentice to join our growing team. During the apprenticeship you will learn and carry out all 1st line and 2nd Line support activities.

Key Responsibilities

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Observing, learning, and understanding a wide range of IT skills and processes while under the instruction of skilled technical staff
  • To be able to demonstrate these skills and processes as the training period progresses
  • Recording all reported problems and resolutions using the Helpdesk
  • Monitoring and responding to emails/support tickets
  • Providing technical support as required (via IT Helpdesk escalating as required to 2nd/3rd line support)
  • To install, configure and maintain hardware as required.
  • Installation, configuration, and support of telephony systems
  • Software (application) installation, maintenance, patching and upgrades
  • Keeping an inventory of software and hardware, licences and on which computers they are installed
  • Working with team members to meet deadlines
  • Assisting with technical project work
  • Checking any orders and deliveries of IT equipment and adding to the inventory
  • Ordering consumables
  • Maintenance/creation of internal IT documentation within the Solutions database
  • 1st Line support, 2nd line support
