This programme has three disctinct options

The Cyber Security Engineer
This is the most technology focused role in the occupation and will typically design, build and test secure networks or security products or systems with a particular focus on the security aspects of the design.
The Cyber Risk Analyst
Focuses on risk assessment, analysis and giving advice on risk mitigations. The roles may support formal security governance, regulatory and compliance (GRC).
The Cyber Defender and Responder
This role is more operationally focused, configuring and operating secure systems to prevent security breaches or monitoring systems to detect and respond to security breaches.
Those with an annual wage bill of less than £3m do not pay the Apprenticeship Levy. Instead, 95% of each apprenticeship is funded by the government whilst a 5% investment is required by the employer to enhance the skills of their employee.
- Employers are also be eligible for a £1000 incentive payment if the apprentice is aged 16 – 18.
- Employers with less than 50 employees and where the apprentice is aged 16 – 18, the government will fund 100% of the apprentice and are eligible for a £1000 incentive payment.
- Employers with those aged 19+ the government will continue to fund 95% of the apprenticeship programme whilst a 5% investment is required by the employer.

24 months on-programme – This is when you will learn the skills, knowledge and behaviours which will then support you in the End-Point Assessment. You could partake in a combination of activities, such as classroom-based sessions, mentoring, shadowing, bespoke resources and off-site visits, in order to support your learning and development. You must also partake in 20%off-job training.
End-Point Assessment – This is when you will need to demonstrate you have learnt the required knowledge, skills and behaviours, through a scenario-based knowledge test and a discussion based on an evidence-based portfolio.
