Learning Curve Group are national training provider going through an exciting period of change and growth across all of its services. As part of this growth, we are looking for a Business Development Officer to support the appointed Business Development Director’s strategic vision within our Apprenticeships division. The post holder will be accountable for supporting on the sales strategy with levy paying employers and make a significant contribution to the growth of our company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Forming and maintaining relationships with prospective Levy paying clients, and working closely with the Business Development Managers to bring in new business
  • Instigating initial contact with prospective employers, sharing details of the services that we can provide, and working closely with Business Development Managers to ensure a smooth process for clients
  • Sharing accurate information and identifying suitable training solutions for each individual client
  • Arranging client meetings for Business Development Managers, using effective organisation to plan appropriate meeting and travel times
  • Support our strategic development plan which sets out the vision and key targets for the growth of activity with Levy payers and strategic employer partners
  • Developing a strong online presence and building a network of potential clients
  • Responsibility for the management of own KPI’s
  • Contribute to research to identify new areas of employer need and new products and markets
  • Contribute to the development of a marketing strategy to support the plans for growth in apprentice numbers and income at Levy paying employers and strategic employer partners and to establish and maintain our reputation as an employer responsive provider
  • Developing the Levy apprenticeship brand, promoting apprenticeships to schools, parents, young people and businesses
  • Agree implementation plan and timetable
  • Implement and comply with the Company’s Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding and Health and Safety Policies
  • Undertake such duties as may be required commensurate with the level of responsibility and nature of the job in discussion with your line manager

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
You will be judged on the following aspects:
  • Evaluating the market landscape (including strength and weaknesses of competitors) and scope out opportunities to win new business
  • Sharing accurate information on the most suitable training solutions for each individual client, and ensuring that their needs are met where possible
  • Forming initial relationships with prospective clients, and working closely with Business Development Managers to convert these into business meetings.
  • Arranging quality business meetings for Business Development Managers to attend, in order to ensure a smooth process for clients
  • Contribute to overall business activity, including networking and developing a strong online presence of Learning Curve Group and the training solutions that we can provide
  • Promoting and implementing the ‘Beyond the Levy’ approach
  • Provide innovative and straightforward solutions to training issues 

Essential Criteria
  • An understanding of the needs of business and the importance of skills to business competitiveness
  • Previous experience of successful business development ideally in the B2B service sector, with a background which includes both sales and marketing
  • Track record of meeting and exceeding challenging targets through own activity and through the effective management of staff and resources
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and written communication skills
  • Energy, vision and passion
