Key Responsibilities

We are looking for tutors in our flexible learning provision, to work on a full time basis(Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm), supporting learners who are studying towards their Level 3 diploma in Counselling Skills.

This role requires a highly motivated and self-driven person to deliver teaching, learning and assessment to learners on Learning Curve Group, Flexible Learning Courses. Tutors will have recent experience in the vocational sector relevant to the course. The tutor will take full responsibility for the effective running of the course and the associated administrative duties in accordance with the funding regulations.

You will assess learner performance and/or deliver related underpinning knowledge and support in a range of tasks to ensure that the competence and/or knowledge meet the requirements of the standards.

In terms of the delivery - you will be required to deliver a welcome session to new learners and also 1-2 teaching sessions per week.

At Learning Curve Group we believe in a blended approach to delivery, so some learning will take place remotely with the use of video conferencing. However, it’s important we meet the needs of all learners and there are still occasions where delivery will need to take place face to face.

NCFE LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA IN COUNSELLING SKILLS

This qualification is designed for learners interested in using counselling skills as part of their functional role in a wide range of sector areas, or who are looking to progress towards accredited counsellor status with one of the counselling professional accrediting bodies.
This qualification aims to provide learners with a more in-depth knowledge of the use of counselling skills in everyday life and work, and the approaches that underpin the use of these skills.
The objectives of this qualification are to help learners develop counselling skills, understanding the different approaches involved in the use of counselling skills and appreciate the importance of self-development.

DUTIES                                                                                                                                            
  • Provide support, feedback and guidance to learners on programme ensuring regular contact is maintained
  • Carry out assessments and provide robust feedback confirming assessment decision in accordance with the Awarding Body requirements (a sample of the assessments will be assessed by our team of internal moderators)
  • Ensure timely achievements are met, including retention and achievement targets by implementing strategies and supporting learners
  • Provide robust exit advice to learners as they set personal goals for career progression
  • Liaise with the management regarding paper and online assessments and highlight any areas of concern with learners
  • Meet with dedicated Tutor Support Officer to discuss learner progress
  • Make initial contact with learners within 3 days of allocation and maintain regular contact
  • Address any actions identified by the internal moderation team within a period of 10 days
  • Attend mandatory standardisation meetings and other meetings where required

  • Recognised teaching or training qualification at level 3 or above
  • Assessor Qualified, A1, TAQA, CAVA, or D32, D33
  • Vocational experience in the area in what you are applying for
  • Proven track record of meeting targets
  • Good level of IT Skills 
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills 
  • Drive and enthusiastic to support learners
  • Passionate about transforming people’s lives through learning
  • Self-reliant and able to manage own workload
  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
  • Access to a car with a full UK driving license
  • Right to live and work in the UK
 Although delivery is our passion, it’s important you are comfortable using e-portfolios for the following:  
  • Comprehensive planning – Intent of the session and what teaching strategies.
  • Resources – What resources you will use during the session e.g powerpoints
  • Feedback – Feedback on the session, how the learner approached the session and what they gained
  • Marking – Mapping and giving feedback on work
  • Diary Management
  • Audit trail – Learners not participating, that recording an audit trail on SA.
