Key Responsibilities

We are recruiting an Engagement Support Officer to work across our Croydon Academy working Monday-Friday on a fixed term contract.

Key Responsibilities & Duties 
Student Liaison  
  • Interview applicants for their chosen programme completing eligibility checks and related ESFA documentation for the relevant funding channels
  • Act as a point of contact for apprentices providing ongoing support and impartial IAG throughout the learner journey
  • Provide additional support during the learners first 6 weeks, including half day sessions to ensure fulfilment of employer and learner expectations
  • Ensure apprentices are in employment throughout their programme finding alternative placements where applicable
  • Support learners at programme exit and provide information, advice and guidance on progression and employment opportunities
  • Liaise with LHAA Employer Engagement Managers and Academy Managers where they have key account responsibilities relating to Apprentices

Stakeholder Engagement
  • Develop links with key external stakeholders, (schools and JCPs) and capitalise on the relationships to generate enrolments on to the Apprenticeship
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders (Academy Managers and external employers) to identify training and employment opportunities
  • Carry out all stakeholder related recruitment activity including advertising on the NAS website, pre-screening, and interviewing
  • Work closely with the LHAA Customer Liaison team to update the centralised salon vacancy database 
  • Liaise with stakeholders in relation to the enrolment process of apprentices and adult learners
  • Organise and manage LHAA open days to generate potential interest in a career in hairdressing
  • Carry out regular reviews with employers and Apprentices within the salon to inform them of the Apprentice’s progress and to agree targets for improvement. Ensure the outcomes from the review are communicated to the Tutor 
  • Manage employer surveys on an adhoc and bi-annual basis for each salon

Generic and administrative
  • Ensure correct processing and filing of PLRs and interview documentation
  • Liaise with the Administration team to ensure they are provided with accurate information to inform the employer Apprenticeship documentation
  • Inform the Administration team’s process to generate EDRS numbers
  • Update employers’ database and files to include H&S and ONAs
  • Manage the process to gain dated signatures on enrolment paperwork and final EPA documentation and follow up on all documentation as required
  • Carry out health and safety checks on an annual basis at all salons and liaise with the LHAA Administration team for recording the Health & Safety checks on PICs 
  • Provide ad hoc and regular reports as and when required 
  • Manage the Employer Engagement PICs database and ensure regular updating of employer information, Apprentice placements and salon visits
  • Liaise with the Hairdressing Tutors for information to support the employer reviews and provide feedback to Tutors after the visit
  • Comply and follow all processes within the Health and Safety Policy
  • Comply and follow all processes within the IT Policy and, Data Protection and Information Security Policy
