This role is responsible for leading on sales and contributing to the development and delivery of the LHAA and LBTA’s strategy and operational targets with employers to make a significant contribution to our company growth.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Duties 
  • Support our strategic development plan which sets out the vision and key targets for the growth of activity with employers and strategic employer partners
  • Implement our strategic development plan to grow and develop the targets for funded (ESFA Levy and non levy apprenticeship, AEB and GLA AEB) and commercial provision in key sectors as a result of LMI research and intelligence gathering and feedback from employers
  • Generate performance reports on starts in line with budgeted revenue requirements
  • Responsibility for the management of own KPI’s
  • Line management responsibility for Employer Engagement Managers and Student Liaison Officers ensuring outstanding achievement of KPIs
  • Build strong relationships with all employers and other key stakeholders
  • Responsible for the management and support with employers of the Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS)
  • Work closely with Managing Director, operations, and curriculum to develop, review and revise curriculum delivery materials to support the delivery
  • Contribute to research/development of a marketing strategy to identify new areas of employer need, new products, markets and maintain our reputation as an employer responsive provider
  • Contribute to our positioning to be able to respond to the changes to the funding model and develop a fully costed apprenticeship, AEB and commercial management and delivery model(s)
  • Represent us on various advisory bodies and business forums
  • Support the sales strategy to engage new clients and confirm the most appropriate training solution

Key Accountabilities

You will be judged on the following aspects:

Business Development 
  • Evaluating the market landscape (including strength and weaknesses of competitors) and scope out opportunities to win new business
  • Develop and deliver high-calibre propositions and presentations for existing and prospective clients at senior, executive and board level
  • Add to and maintain our prospect business pipeline and assist in the development of an on-going client generation strategy
  • Contribute to overall business activity, including networking events and conferences
  • Work alongside the Managing Director and appropriate LHAA/LCG Board Director to create and deliver the strategy around creating additional revenue streams outside of apprenticeships
Essential Criteria: 
  • Knowledge and understanding of the anticipated changes to apprenticeship/funding delivery 
  • An understanding of the needs of business and the importance of skills to business competitiveness 
  • Previous experience of successful business development ideally in the B2B service sector, with a background which includes both sales and marketing
  • Previous experience operating at a management level with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding challenging targets through their own activity and through the effective management of staff and resources
