Key Responsibilities

The Role
The role requires the Internal Quality Advisor within their specific area of responsibility to be accountable for all quality activities within our Quality Framework. This will include carrying out assurance activities in line with Awarding Organisations and our internal requirements. This will then be followed up by identifying and delivering on the development needs of the delivery staff in order to provide a focused wrap around service.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Carry out the assurance and development activities to ensure they are carried out in a timely and effective manner and in accordance with the Quality framework, reporting to appropriate managers
  • Review the best practice seen from the assurance and development activities and contribute to the approaches to transfer and capture impact across the provision
  • Support operational teams in developing reflective and evaluative practice during self-assessment and improvement planning activities, including, within operational meetings were required
  • Positively challenge where quality is not met and driving continuous improvement in the practice of delivery staff
  • Liaising with appropriate staff to ensure that systems in support of teaching, learning and assessment, verification and any additional support required are fully implemented
  • Undertake CPD and sector updating to ensure the contractual requirements of the post and the needs of the department at met
  • Provide Line Manager with accurate and up to date information, including requesting reporting
  • Ensure the completion of all IQA paperwork/online documentation required to meet audit requirements is in place

  • Proactive approach to driving monthly completions with allocated delivery according to predictions
  • Undertake observations of teaching, learning and assessment including learning walks on direct and where required subcontracted provision, including face to face and remote observations
  • Follow observation processes in a timely manner and report any high-risk aspects to your Quality Manager
  • Actively seek external body and sector updates and ensure these are cascaded to relevant people
  • Conduct Mock EPA activities and EPA readiness guidance to ensure learner readiness for gateway
  • Conduct interim and summative sampling and report on the required measure and milestone progress to the individual, escalating any concerns of learner’s progress or delivery areas of practice to the relevant Quality and Operational Management Team
  • Assure the development of maths and English are embedded throughout the learning programme
  • Carry out sector specific standardisation activities in line with internal and Awarding Organisation requirements, lead and prepare for EQA and Quality review visits as allocated by your Quality Manager
  • Provide support and guidance to delivery teams in relation to the Awarding Organisations and End Point Assessment Organisations requirements for assessment practice and the completion of documentation

  • Identify, plan, and implement a development approach to meet the emerging and ongoing needs of delivery staff
  • Participate in the coaching and training provided to the delivery team and measure the impact on processes within the learner journey, such as IAG, teaching, learning, assessment, and next steps advice
  • Contribute to the staff recruitment and induction process and assuring the suitability of new delivery staff
  • Embrace different styles of training techniques, including e-learning, tutorial sessions or coaching
  • Work closely with the Curriculum Development team to advise on the development and revision of curriculum in the identified provision area
  • Contribute to the improvement planning process following internal and external review, working closely with your Quality Manager
  • Support and ensure delivery staff embed the cross-cutting wider skill themes of Safeguarding/Prevent, Equality & Diversity, British Values and Health & Safety/Well-being, digital skills development and on-line safety are throughout the learning programme

  • Meet KPI’s and targets associated with the role
  • Ensure up to date knowledge of external review and Ofsted requirements
  • Participate in ongoing research and professional development

Essential Criteria
  • Detailed knowledge of the Education Inspection Framework
  • Detailed knowledge of the company’s Quality Framework and audit regime
  • Detailed and practical understanding of teaching, learning and assessment for learning
  • Detailed knowledge of Internal Quality Assurance
  • Detailed knowledge around digital standards  
  • Relevant teaching qualification 
  • Vocational Qualifications to at least level 3 or 5 dependent on IQA allocation
  • Relevant Assessor Qualification
  • Relevant Internal Quality Assurer Qualification or working towards
  • Appropriate teaching, assessing and IQA experience in terms of breadth and depth
  • Vocational experience working in the sectors for which you will IQA of at least 4 years
  • In developing the practice of others
  • A track record of outcomes against KPIs
  • A trend of consistently good or better teaching observations
  • Development, coaching and/or mentoring experience
  • Demonstrable experience of sharing practice and resources
  • Delivering and assessing teaching and assessor qualifications
  • Outstanding communication skills (interpersonal, written)
