Introduction

The period of growth we have experience at LCG over the last two years has been exceptional. To ensure that we remain lean from a financial aspect we are looking to recruit a procurement manager who will support in cost reduction across the business through professional procurement practises. Our Head Office is based in County Durham, and although some travel to sit is expected, we are happy to hear from candidates outside of the area and could perform a hybrid model of home and office work.

Key Responsibilities



Responsibilities
  • Develop a procurement strategy which aligns with the LCG vision and values
  • Review, improve and ensure compliance with best practise procurement processes across all LCG business areas
  • Work with all parts of the business to identify and deliver cost savings
  • Identify and deliver cost synergies from LCG business acquisitions
  • Working with acquired businesses to identify and share best practise and implement group  policies and procedures
  • Develop procurement risk management policies and processes
  • Introduce appropriate procurement key performance indicators
  • Manage all procurement related compliance and governmental reporting matters
  • Lead on the assessment of supplier performance, for example SLAs
  • Manage supplier contractual matters, for example renewals and ensuring best practise contracts, to deliver value for money and mitigate risk
  • Provide procurement training and support for other LCG staff
  • Work closely with the Property team on the procurement elements of property matters, including lease renewals and services
  • Produce a monthly procurement report

Essential Criteria
  • A Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS)
    Evidence of adding value in a procurement role
    Experience of developing, implementing, and managing procurement strategy and processes
    Understanding of and evidence of procurement risk management

    Strong negotiating skills
    Strong communication and influencing skills, evidencing ability to work with all staff levels
    Ability to work on a solus basis and work corroboratively with others across a large business
    Task finisher

    Experience of property matters would be an advantage
