Course Overview

If you're looking to develop an understanding and appreciation of mental health conditions, this course will help you do just that. During this course, you will gain new knowledge and skills for your personal life as well as your career.

This course focuses on the signs and symptoms of different mental health conditions and neurodiversity, and how to manage or support them, as well as gaining an understanding of mental health legislation and guidance.

Awareness Of Mental Health Problems

What will I learn?

The course covers various facets of mental health, and understanding the ways in which neurodiversity can impact mental health if not properly supported. The course is made up of 13 units:

  • Understanding Mental Health
  • Understanding Stress
  • Understanding Anxiety
  • Understanding Phobias
  • Understanding Depression
  • Understanding Postnatal Depression
  • Understanding Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Understanding Bipolar Disorder
  • Understanding Schizophrenia
  • Understanding Dementia
  • Understanding Eating Disorders
  • Understanding Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Understanding Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Eligibility Criteria

This course is government funded, you must meet the following criteria to be able to study for free:

  • You must currently live in England    
  • You must have been resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years, for purposes other than study    
  • You must be over the age of 19   
  • You must not be on an apprenticeship

There is a £125 cancellation fee if you enrol and do not complete or withdraw from the course. This fee is to cover administration costs.

10% of children have a diagnosable mental health problem.
3.5% of the population are affected by agoraphobia.
24mil people worldwide are affected by schizophrenia.
