Course Overview

Dementia is one of the main causes of disability in later life, and cases are rising - by 2052, it's expected that two million people in the UK will have dementia. If you work with people with dementia, it's important that you understand different approaches to dementia care. Our level 2 course will teach you the different forms of dementia, and how to support individuals with person-centred care and positive communication.

What will I learn?

This course is made up of five units:

  • Understand the different forms of dementia
  • Learn how to support individuals through person-centred care
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of care
  • Learn positive communication methods
  • Learn issues around the use of medication

Eligibility Criteria

This course is government funded, you must meet the following criteria to be able to study for free:

  • You must currently live in England    
  • You must have been resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years, for purposes other than study    
  • You must be over the age of 19   
  • You must not be on an apprenticeship

There is a £125 cancellation fee if you enrol and do not complete or withdraw from the course. This fee is to cover administration costs.

Submit your work

Once you've finished your course, we'll apply for your certificate. This will be posted to your home address within 6 months of completing your course.
