Learning Curve Group raise thousands for charity at Vegas-themed ball

Posted on Sep 27, 2017

Learning Curve Group (LCG) raised a fantastic £9,523 for 2017 charity of the year, Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) by hosting a Vegas-themed charity ball.

Heart FM DJ, Justin Lockwood, hosted the charity ball at Hardwick Hall Hotel, Sedgefield on Friday 15 September. Over 160 guests enjoyed fabulous entertainment from glamorous dance group Encore, saxophone player Daniel Johnson, rising singing star Abi Garrido and live band Audio Cover.

The GNAAS operates three air ambulance helicopters across the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria, bringing pioneering pre-hospital care to the scene. The service helps rescue hundreds of severely injured and ill patients each year, and relies on the support of the public to survive, which was highlighted during the night with heart-wrenching videos and a speech from the GNAAS’ Ben McWilliams.

Learning Curve Group’s CEO, Brenda McLeish said: “Our annual ball is an important date in our calendar and I’m very proud that we have raised such a great amount for a wonderful cause. The Great North Air Ambulance Service does amazing work bringing care to the scene of accidents, and it’s great to know that the money we have raised will be able to help. I would like to thank our sponsors NCFE and Scholars School System, the entertainment and our lovely guests who helped to make the event so successful.”

The Vegas ball had several fundraising activities throughout the night, including a balloon raffle, silent auction and casino games, all of which contributed to the amazing grand total of over £12,000 that LCG has raised for the charity throughout 2017.

We would like to say a big thank you to those who donated raffle prizes, including LSI, Hardwick Hall Hotel, Hayes Garden World, Powderbeds, CH&Co, Jacksons Law, Wykes Printers, South Tyneside College, Office Team, Cronnie Creative and SCL.

Our next fundraising event is our curry and quiz night which takes place on Monday 16 October at Spice Lounge, Bishop Auckland. Tickets are still available for this event for £16 per person and can be purchased from lcg-marketing@learningcurvegroup.co.uk.
