Course Content

This CAVA qualification will allow you to assess NVQ's, apprenticeships and any other regulated training in your subject area and covers the following topics:

  • Understanding the principles, requirements and practices of assessment

  • Explaining the function of assessment in learning and development

  • Defining the key concepts and principles of assessment

  • Explaining the responsibilities of the assessor • Assessing occupational competence in the work environment

  • Understanding different types of assessment method

  • Understanding how to plan assessment

  • Understanding how to involve learners and others in assessment

  • Understanding how to make assessment decisions

  • Understanding quality assurance of the assessment process

  • Understanding how to manage information relating to assessment

  • Understanding the legal and good practice

You must have access to learners to assess to be able to pass the observational elements of the assessment. However, as a training provider, we deliver many courses to many individuals in many sectors so may be able to help you with your assessment requirements.

How Learners use this course

This Level 3, fully online qualification can help you to understand the assessment strategies and quality assurance procedures that could lead to becoming qualified and having the confidence to find full-time and/or part-time work as an assessor, assessing NVQ's, apprenticeships and any other regulated training, helping learners achieve their qualifications.
