We are supporting housing professionals across England to gain the qualifications needed to meet the Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023 requirements, and evidence their professional practice within the sector.

Course Overview

Housing Practice is an occupational area which requires an individual to have relevant knowledge,understanding and skills to practice within the Housing context, primarily as a customer service.This qualification will give you a basic understanding of housing and introduce you to some of the skills and knowledge necessary to participate in housing related activities.

This qualification will prepare you for further vocational development to a Level 3 qualification.

Fully Accredited Course

This course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Housing, the professional body for people who work in housing. They were granted a Royal Charter in 1984.

Progression Opportunities

Successful completion of this qualification will prepare you for the Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice. On completion of the Level 3 certificate, you can become a certified practitioner member of CIH.

How Long is the Course?

The duration of this course is seven weeks. We refer to our online courses as 'flexible learning' because they're designed to be completed around your work and home life commitments. All deadlines for your course will be shown in your online course platform once you are enrolled to help keep you on track.

Housing Provision and Housing Organisations
Customer Service for Housing
Assets, Repairs and Maintenance.
Professional Development in Housing.

Eligibility Criteria

This course is government funded, you must meet the following criteria to be able to study for free:

You must currently live in England
You must have been resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years, for purposes other than study
You must be over the age of 19
You must not be on an apprenticeship

There is a £125 cancellation fee if you enrol and do not complete or withdraw from the course. This fee is to cover administration costs.

5.5% increase in rental prices in the last 12 months.
