It’s time to celebrate, because the war is over! We’re delighted to announce that the theme of this year’s annual Charity Ball is VE Day.
Guests can expect a party like no other as the celebration of the end of rationing, air raid sirens and blackouts begins.
After the huge success of last year's Peaky Blinder’s themed event, the VE day evening promises to be an exciting one where guests can really get into the wartime spirit.
Featuring live music, a three-course meal and plenty of opportunity to fundraise; the event will be raising money for Learning Curve Group’s brand-new Charity Foundation which aims to support multiple causes across the region.
The Learning Curve Group Charity Foundation runs in partnership with the County Durham Community Foundation to provide vital funds for charities and social enterprises to support them in transforming lives.
Charities, social enterprises and individuals will have the opportunity to apply for funds that Learning Curve Group staff have raised. In line with their company values, the LCG charity foundation has three pillars that they aim to support including causes that alleviate poverty, develop skills and tackle unemployment.
Brenda McLeish, Chief Executive of Learning Curve Group, said: “We’re really looking forward to this year’s charity ball. It will be the first one in support of our brand new charitable foundation, so I’m hoping we get a good level of support from staff and local businesses.
“Our guests are in for a great evening, while raising money for great causes across our region. After the success of our previous events, we know that guests are in for a memorable night and I hope we can smash our fundraising records.”
Of course, the event wouldn’t be possible without the support of our key sponsors, so a massive thank you to NCFE and Scholars for their continued support.
