Learning Curve Group Celebrate Continued Growth

Posted on Sep 13, 2021

Award winning training provider, Learning Curve Group, hosted their largest staff event to date this week as they brought together 550+ employees at St James’ Park in Newcastle Upon Tyne. The national company, which has its head office based in County Durham, has grown in recent years to expand their staff numbers across the whole country. The two day conference saw their ‘Purple People’ get involved in a range of lively and impactful development workshops to learn about all business areas and how they can provide the best experience for their learners. It is a chance for their employees from different regional and business areas to come together after a long period of remote working and get to know what goes on in the whole organisation.

At the Staff Conference, CEO Brenda McLeish announced some exciting news to their employees as the company plans to increase its staff numbers to over 1,500 by 2025, creating almost 1,000 new jobs across the country. They also will be opening a new skills based academy every year across different regional areas to reach more learners and transform more lives. The training provider has recently opened their latest Business Academy in Darlington to support the move of the HM Treasury which will create many opportunities in the area.

McLeish said: “It has been amazing to have all of our Purple People together in one place again after a long 18 months. Learning Curve Group wouldn’t be the successful business it is today without the dedicated staff that work hard day-in-day-out to transform lives through learning. This is our largest LCG event to date and I am so proud of how the business has grown to support over one million learners across the country.

As LCG continues to grow it is extremely important to both me and the executive team that we keep the strong culture that we have here. Since acquiring three new businesses since the beginning of the pandemic, it is the first time that we have all come together as one purple family. I am so pleased that everyone had such a great time at the Staff Conference and we could all celebrate what it means to be a Purple Person.”

The Staff Conference came to a close with their annual awards ceremony where many members of staff were commended for their hard work and commitment over the last year. As every employee deserved an award for their inspiring work, McLeish announced that all staff will get an extra day of paid annual leave for Christmas Eve this year. LCG are very proud that they have been able to come through the pandemic together whilst supporting each other and their learners to achieve success.

LCG, who have just been awarded the Advanced Good Work Pledge by North of Tyne Combined Authority and hold the IIP Gold accreditation, have a strong employee culture which centres around keeping learners at the centre of everything they do and continuous staff development. The training provider are looking for more Purple People to join their ever growing workforce. LCG’s talent team are currently recruiting for over 60 vacancies to support various business areas across the country.
