Learning Curve Group (LCG) is proud to announce a brand new qualification: NCFE LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE IN UNDERSTANDING DATA PROTECTION AND DATA SECURITY. Having launched the certificate in collaboration with NCFE, we are the only training provider to offer this qualification, which will enhance data protection and security training for anyone who handles data as part of their work.
Since the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in May 2018, there are increasing pressures for organisations to ensure they are storing and accessing data correctly and lawfully. With severe fines in place for those who are breaking the law, it’s more important than ever that businesses and their employees understand the importance of data protection, security and how to avoid breaches.
The qualification focuses on a number of key areas, including understanding the current data protection legislation; understanding procedures for organisations that handle data; understanding threats to ICT systems and how this can impact data; and understanding consequences of not protecting data.
Glenn Shallcross, Director of Product Development at LCG, said: “Since the change in data protection regulations earlier this year, it is clear there is a demand for a level 2 course that can give learners an understanding of the current data protection and data security laws. Anyone who handles data needs to have clear knowledge and understanding of the laws and the potential impact to both individuals and organisations of not adhering to them.
“We’re delighted to have worked with NCFE to be the first to offer this qualification. Data Protection is such a hot topic, and our aim is to make it as easy as possible for learners to understand current legislation and how to act within it.”
As this is a flexible learning qualification, learners can complete the course in their own time, using our online platform or via a workbook.
This brand new qualification is available at no cost through government funding (subject to criteria). For more information or to enrol onto the course, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
