National training provider, Learning Curve Group (LCG), are announced as a Best Companies Top Employer in the North East and in the Education and Training Sector. The lists, compiled by Best Companies, is calculated through employee feedback that covers everything from management and leadership, to job satisfaction and work-life balance.
LCG ranked at number 27 on the North East list and number 15 on the Education and Training Sector specific list. The business has grown significantly over the last year and LCG established themselves as one of the largest training providers in the country, employing over 500 members of staff across the country to work towards their goal of ‘transforming lives through learning’.
LCG saw the importance of supporting its employees throughout the pandemic by moving to a 4-day working week so staff could support their families and adjust to the new ways of teaching and home schooling. The business also hosted live CEO briefings on Facebook Workplace to keep staff engaged with business updates and keep their ‘close family unit’ while staff were working from home.
CEO of LCG, Brenda McLeish, said: “It is an honour to make the Best Companies to work for lists. Learning Curve Group has grown significantly in the last year and it is great to be seen as one of the top employers to work for both in the North East and the education sector. We value our staff at LCG, and we are delighted to receive this brilliant employee engagement feedback, even though we have had periods of working from home during the pandemic.
LCG would not be the business it is today without the fantastic ‘Purple People’ at its heart, doing amazing things every day to ‘transform lives through learning’, which is why we have made these prestigious lists. As the business continues to grow, we will work hard to ensure that LCG continues to be an incredible place to work.”
2020 proved to be a challenging year for all in the education industry as face-to-face learning came to a halt. However, the staff at LCG did not let this stand in the way of delivering outstanding education to its learners and ensured that their quality of training did not drop.
At the beginning of the pandemic LCG acted quickly to make all of their 50+ short courses available online. With over 20,000 enrolments in the first month, it was clear that there was a huge demand for learning and a need to deliver high quality education throughout various lockdowns. They also continued to support their academies learners and apprenticeship learners through successful virtual teaching sessions with tutors. This would not have been possible without LCG’s ‘Purple People’.
