National training provider, Learning Curve Group (LCG), rated GOOD by Ofsted in recent inspection at their Ripley Academy, where learners can undertake study programmes and adult learning courses.
LCG are pleased to retain their GOOD Ofsted rating at their Ripley Academy with the main areas for success being how young people, including those who are often disillusioned with education, benefit from a highly inclusive approach from staff. They ensure that learners receive good support and due to small class sizes learners are more engaged. LCG were also praised for their clear strategy to support learners with special educational needs and/or disabilities and their close links with employers in the health and care industry to develop well-designed distance learning courses for adults.
The award winning training provider was rated GOOD in all areas including the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, education programmes for young people and adult learning programmes. Gaining a score of Good overall effectiveness.
Brenda McLeish OBE, Chief Executive Officer at LCG said: “I am delighted with the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection at our Ripley Academy. Our Academy provides essential skills and employability training for young people and adults to build a career. At Learning Curve Group we strive to keep learners at the centre of everything we do. So, it is incredibly important to us that we are continuing to meet high quality standards of education.
I am very proud of our ‘Purple People’ who have worked so hard to ensure we retained our Good Ofsted rating and continue to deliver innovative training to our learners.”
LCG’s Ripley Academy provides study programmes and adult learning courses in a range of subjects including construction, early years educator, care, employability and beauty. Adult learners study a three or six-week long distance learning course, and there are 50 different courses available. Currently, almost 1,000 adults study distance learning courses with LCG in Ripley, in subjects such as mental health, counseling, business, digital and care.
The Academy aims to support learners into employment or further study by helping learners prepare for interviews. For example, construction learners all gain their CSCS card during their programme, which is invaluable to secure employment on building sites. The Academy also organises useful sessions with industry experts which help them prepare for their next steps.
Learners reported that the culture at LCG’s Academy is centered around inclusion and respecting people’s differences. They gain the confidence to challenge stereotypical behaviour which they may experience in the industry and discuss matters such as discrimination.
LCG have over 50 skills based academies located across the country that all specialise in different industries such as construction, business, hair and beauty and pre-uniformed services. The training provider recently completed the acquisition of Motivational Preparation College for Training (MPCT), making them the second largest military training provider after the Ministry of Defence, which sees LCG further cement their position as one of the country’s largest, most diverse and fastest growing training providers.
