Welcome to Learner Badges
Learner badges are fun, motivational awards you can collect throughout your learning journey. They recognise your progress, consistency, and the milestones you reach along the way – both big and small.
Badges are there to celebrate effort, build confidence, and give you a visible record of your achievements.
What are learner badges?
Learner badges are digital awards automatically given to you when you meet certain criteria on the platform. Each badge:
- Celebrates a specific achievement or behaviour
- Is awarded automatically – there’s nothing extra you need to apply for
- Is stored securely in your digital badge wallet
- Can be viewed, shared, or kept as a personal record of progress
Some badges recognise learning milestones (like completing modules), while others reward habits, consistency, or special moments.
How you earn badges
You earn badges simply by learning and engaging. Not everyone will collect every badge – and that’s okay. Badges are designed to reflect your unique learning journey.
Badges can be awarded for:
- Completing modules
- Reaching halfway or near-completion of your course
- Finishing your qualification
- Logging in regularly
- Completing activities on consecutive days
- Maintaining longer learning streaks
- Returning to learning after a break
- Improving work after feedback
- Putting in focused study time
- Logging in on key dates or celebrations
- Random surprise badges
- Light-hearted achievements like early mornings, late nights, or weekends
Do I need to do anything to claim a badge?
No. Badges are awarded automatically when you meet the criteria.
When you earn a badge:
- You may receive an email letting you know
- The badge will appear in your digital badge wallet
- You can view its details and see why it was awarded
Your digital badge wallet
Your badge wallet is where all your badges are stored in one safe place.
From your badge wallet, you can:
- View all the badges you’ve earned
- See the criteria for each badge
- Download or share your badges
- Keep a lasting record of your achievements
Your badges don’t expire unless clearly stated – they’re yours to keep.
What badges are (and aren’t)
Reward badges are designed to encourage, not pressure.
Badges are:
- A way to recognise effort and motivation
- A visual reminder of progress
- A positive nudge to keep going
Badges aren’t:
- Tests or assessments
- Something you can fail
- A replacement for certificates or qualifications
