Diploma in Bricklaying Level 1

Learners will learn about the industry, including the principles of constructing buildings, and about information used in building design and construction. They will also learn about health, safety and environmental issues on construction sites, and how to communicate with others on the job as well as learning practical skills specific to bricklaying, including building solid walls, interpreting working drawings to set out masonry structures, and constructing cavity walls forming masonry structures.

Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery Level 1

Learners will develop an understanding of basic carpentry and joinery skills and knowledge as well as the health and safety requirements for working in the construction industry.
Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery Level 2

Learners will be able to further develop their skills and knowledge in Carpentry and Joinery. They will study the Principles of construction - Structural carpentry - Non-structural carpentry Timber technology and the use of power tools. This also includes door hanging and fitting kitchen methods.
Diploma in Painting and Decorating Level 1

Learners will develop an understanding of basic painting and decorating skills. This includes preparation work, painting techniques and stencilling.
Diploma in Painting and Decorating Level 2

Learners will further develop their skills and understanding of more complex painting and decorating products, methods and techniques. This includes wallpaper hanging of standard and non-standard papers.
Diploma in Plastering Level 1

Learners will develop knowledge and skills of basic Plastering techniques. They will study health, safety and welfare in construction , principles of building construction, information and communication and applying plastering materials to interior systems and external rendering techniques.

They will study health, safety and welfare in construction , principles of building construction, information and communication and applying plastering materials to interior systems and external rendering techniques. They will also learn about the career opportunities available in the construction sector.
